The Italian shoe brand MOMA was founded in 1992 by brothers Gigio and Daniele Gironacci. Deeply rooted in the Marche region, MOMA combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary style. In the workshop, shoemakers, designers and artists work closely together. In this way, they combine age-old knowledge with new ideas and tried-and-tested manufacturing techniques. Incidentally, MOMA stands for ‘Midnight Over My Action’: a reminder of the sleepless nights spent by the creative founders whilst developing new shoe designs and concepts for the brand.
Inspired by the Italian countryside
The details are inspired by nature and the tradition-conscious culture of the Marche region. Elements such as rust, green moss or grass serve as models for colours and leather effects, which give the shoes their distinctive worn look. Through elaborate finishing processes, each model is given its own unique vintage character – making every shoe a creation with its own story.
