Cool winter shoes for cold winter days

Here they are again, the frosty temperatures and thus the time for woollen socks, thermal leggings and the meticulous search for warm winter shoes that don't look like an aesthetic crime. Although we are against stereotypes, women actually have cold feet more often than men. This is largely due to the fact that women generally have 15% less muscle mass and thus produce less heat overall. Parts of the body such as the nose and ears are particularly affected, but so are the feet and toes. So that romantic winter walks with your loved ones and cosy Christmas market visits with colleagues do not mutate into a battle against icy feet after half an hour, here are some tips on how to keep your feet warm through the cold season.

The right shoes

Warm winter shoes should have stable, preferably thick rubber soles. These protect against cold and moisture from below and keep the feet warm for longer. Rubber soles with a deep tread are ideal for getting us through everyday winter life with surefootedness. Leather soles, by the way, are not for winter, as they absorb water and are also very slippery.

Well lined

Although many shoes look like they are suitable for winter, this does not mean that they really keep the feet warm. If the lining has too high a synthetic content, it may not warm properly. For all you cold feet connoisseurs, the best choice is still the good old doubleface lambskin boot. These boots keep you warm, are breathable and incredibly cosy. A cheaper alternative to these are winter shoes with teddy lining or microfibre lining. When buying, make sure that the synthetic content is low.
